20ft Side-Opening Containers: Door Layout and Loading Access

Which 20ft side-opening container should you request?

Start with the cargo and the way it must be loaded. Oceanbox publishes four separate 20ft side-access codes: 20FOS, 20OS2Doors, 20HCOS2SIDEDOORS and 20OS-11FTDoor. They should remain separate when comparing offers. A shared nominal length does not establish the same height, side opening or door arrangement.

For cargo that cannot conveniently pass through end doors, review side access. For storage with frequent access to selected positions, review where each door opening falls relative to the stored goods. These are loading requirements to discuss, rather than a guarantee that every listed configuration fits the same cargo.

Compare the four published codes

Use the code to identify the listing, then use the batch drawing and written specification to assess fit. Do not replace measured dimensions with a product name or assume that “2 doors” means both long sides open.

Clear opening, door panels and internal space are different measurements

Ask for the clear width and height through which the cargo actually passes. Door-panel dimensions, nominal container length and internal floor space do not answer that question by themselves. Record the largest cargo dimensions, including packing or protrusions, and the handling arrangement before comparing the opening.

Request a drawing with the doors open and closed. Check the location of posts, locking gear and other features that may affect the loading path. If several panels must open together, confirm the operating arrangement. Confirm handling-equipment suitability and operating clearances with the relevant operator.

Does high cube solve a side-access requirement?

High cube and side access describe different aspects of equipment. A high-cube description does not establish the height of every side opening. If cargo height is the reason for considering 20HCOS2SIDEDOORS, request both internal height and measured door-opening height for the offered batch.

If end access is sufficient, compare 20GP standard dry equipment. If access from opposite ends matters, review double-door configurations. Choose the access arrangement against the loading plan rather than substituting one special-door code for another.

What must the collection site allow?

Check access to the intended side, door-swing space, loading position and the delivery or collection plan. An opening that fits the cargo on a drawing may still be unusable if the placement blocks the doors. Provide a site sketch or measured access constraints when requesting an offer.

State whether the equipment is intended for storage, transport or conversion. Request appropriate condition evidence, actual-unit photos and applicable transport documentation for that use. Published condition notes do not replace acceptance checks; see the container condition guide.

Published equipment listings: Oct 20, 2026

This view shows 91 published listing records for 20FOS, 20OS2Doors, 20HCOS2SIDEDOORS, 20OS-11FTDoor. Listings include expected arrivals. Quantity is the original published row quantity, not a promise of distinct ready-to-collect units.

Verify availability, currency, final selling price and release terms with Oceanbox. A Pickup label or elapsed ETA is not release authorization. Check the original public inventory for changes.

Prepare a comparable side-opening offer request

Send the exact code, city and state or province, quantity, intended use, largest cargo dimensions, required clear opening and collection date to rolly@oceanbox.cn. Ask for batch drawings, actual-unit photos, condition details and a written selling offer that identifies included preparation and collection terms.

Read the original timing notes on each listing. An elapsed ETA or a Pickup label does not confirm release or ready-to-collect stock. Follow the inquiry-to-pickup guide before arranging collection.
